  What If Christ Had Come Yesterday? -- Question 2
Many believe the phrase "last days" in the Old Testament indicates a time that is still future and filled with famines, wars, and natural disasters--"signs of the times." On that first Pentecost after Jesus ascension, referring to the recent outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Peter says (Acts 2:16-18): "but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: "'and it shall be in the last days,' God says, 'that I will pour forth of my Spirit on all mankind; . . .even on my bondslaves, both men and women, I will in those days pour forth of my spirit and they shall prophesy.'"
