Have You Obeyed the Gospel?
Some suggestions for your study of this most important question:
- Write down your responses to these questions:
- Are you a believer in God and the Bible?
- Are you saved?
- How did you become saved?
- When were you saved?
- When were you baptized?
- Have you obeyed the gospel?
- In your own Bible, please read the following passages carefully.
- John 8:31—those that abide by His teachings are truly His disciples.
- 1 Timothy 2:4—God wants all to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.
- 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 (particularly the verse 8)—We must obey the gospel of Christ or face God's consequences.
- 1 Corinthians 15:1-4—The gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Christ
- As you study the following passages (in your own Bible), consider: How does one obey the death, burial and resurrection of Christ? and Have you obeyed the gospel?

| Jesus is the only way to the Father |
| Jesus has the authority from the Father to command us, and if we love him and want to please God, we will attempt to keep all of his commands. |
| Believing in Him is the first step to salvation. |
| Repentance is also necessary. |
| Confession, too. |
| Baptism is how we participate in (or, obey) the gospel--the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. At this point, God washes away our sins and adds us to the body of Christ, the church. |
