What If Christ Had Come Yesterday? -- Question 5
The mockers and self-lovers that Peter and Paul mention and every other Scriptural description of the "last days" clearly point to times like those in which we are living now. What some call "signs of His coming" seem to be events and attitudes common throughout history. God warns us about them so that we will prepare for them and remain faithful, ready for His return. Read Paul's words (1 Thessalonians 5:1-3): "Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, 'Peace and safety!' then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child. . ."
