I Want To Stand And Be Counted
by Daniel PiwowarI want to stand and be counted as one who has heard the word, and my heart has been pricked.
I want to stand and be counted, as one who believes the gospel that Jesus is the son of God. And that he died for our sins. That we may be forgiven, that he was buried and raised from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
I want to stand and be counted, as one who has repented and turned away from sin.
I want to stand and be counted as one who confesses before man, that Jesus is my savior, the son of God, and I summit everything I have, all that I am, my life to him.
I want to stand and be counted, as one who has been baptized, gone down in the watery grave so that my sins would be washed away, and am a new creature.
I want to stand and be counted, as one who has obeyed the gospel, and been added to the church: His church, Christ's church, The Church of Christ. And that I am now a Christian entitled to all the blessings and promises that go along with being saved. And that I am saved by grace through faith.
I want to stand and be counted, as one who worships with other Christians in the body, on the first day of the week to break bread, and drink of the cup to remember his sacrifice. And to give as I have been given, and to make merry in my heart by singing psalms and hymns.
I would like to praise the Lord, for my brothers and sisters here at Lakeside. I would like to praise the Lord, for our leaders like David who stands in the gap for us. I would like to praise the Lord that he allowed me to stand and be counted before I die or he comes back. So that he won't say, "I never knew you."
Please pray for me that I never loose my zeal for the Lord and that my faith never waivers. And that I always remain a student always seeking him and that praises, and thanks are always in my mouth and that my eye is always on the Lord. And that love and compassion and mercy and forgiveness and peace and joy are always on my mind. And that Satan never steals the word from me. And that I am always about His work, that I don't have time to think about worries, that he always gives me courage to share the gospel with others, and that I gently instruct others and not be a stumbling block to others seeking the Lord.
